Wash Your Windows
Every year you promise yourself that this will be the year I wash all the windows in the house.
And yet you still have dirty windows. Dirty you say - but I can still see through them! Take a paper towel and sprinkle a little vinegar on it. Or the glass cleaner under the sink that you bought three years ago and only use on the bathroom mirrors. I guarantee you will be amazed at the black that comes off of the windows that you can see through.
- Having trouble growing plants? Wash your windows.
- Feeling the pinch in your heating bill? Wash your windows.
- Feeling kind of blue on grey days? Wash your windows.
Seriously, windows can be a second thought when it comes to spring cleaning. We dust, mow, and paint but often we forget about our windows. Some might argue clear windows are the most important part to enjoying a clean home. The next time you are visiting someone’s home measure your reaction to the clarity of their windows. Now think about your home.
Windows that aren’t cleaned on a regular basis are at risk for etching. Etching and scratching can weaken glass causing the already fragile material to shatter easier. Windows are expensive to replace. Take care of them!
Washing the windows really does make a tremendous difference in curb appeal. It’s like trying to sell a diamond ring that’s encrusted with years of soap and life goo. Wouldn’t you have it professionally cleaned to get the best price possible? In fact, according to Money Magazine, the number one presale improvement that generates the best return on investment is having clean windows. They say the average return on window cleaning is 769%.
